| Description |
| The BMW 1 Series really exceeded all expectations with its excellent handling, controlled by a rear wheel drive. The 1 series has all the great features of larger Beemers but they are cleverly packed into a much smaller car. |

The 1 Series success is likely to be similar to the BMW 3 Series with it being the most sort after in its range.
The 1 Series is well weighted with a rear-wheel drive that is very nimble. The steering is very responsive which makes the new Golf or Astra feel rather dull and unresponsive. The chassis feels like it can handle much more power than it's currently being used for.
The new exterior design is aggressive and is quite a dramatic change which has caused some controversy but this does give the 1 Series a very distinctive look.
The build quality and finish is stunning and is filled with a high level of equipment as standard.
All the 1 Series derivatives are fitted with a six speed transmission except the 116i.
There is currently a 2.0 petrol engine and two diesels engines labelled the 118d and 120d. There are likely to be some high performance hatch versions on the way in the future.
The initial high asking price should be offset by the residual values for the 1 Series. |
